A husband tortured then killed his wife — because she “did not know how to cook couscous.”

The 47-year-old from Switzerland has been sentenced to life in jail after slitting his wife’s throat.

The murder happened in April 2010.

He was separated from his wife and attacked her so savagely, she could only be identified by her dental record, officers said. He had also raped her.

The court he had tied his wife to a bed, gagged her, stabbed her 15 times and shot her in the face with an air gun.

He had accused his wife of neglecting their two daughters — aged nine and 12 at the time of the killing — and not being able to cook couscous.

The pair had moved to Switzerland from Tunisia in 1999, but separated several years later.

The judge said the husband had displayed “barbarism, cruelty and determination”.

After killing his wife, reported The Local, he washed and changed and shared a meal with his daughters.
