Call of Duty will probably sell more but Halo 5 will be the better game, have better graphics, and more innovation

Halo and Gears are the kings of multiplayer fun

Snookies123632d ago (Edited 3632d ago )

I agreed, but only for the Halo part of your comment. Gears is kind of average overall these days. Nothing really special about it now.

I really do hope Halo outsells CoD, though I know it won't.

Lawboy23632d ago

Honestly it depends on ur preference I love halo but gears of war is my favorite mp of all time...but u can't go wrong with either

brich2333632d ago

Gears 3 is still alot of fun for me and my friends, and way more people still play it over Judgement.

Gears has AMAZING multiplayer

Boody-Bandit3632d ago (Edited 3632d ago )

I'm the opposite.
I prefer Gears over Halo. Halo runs like butter online but for what ever reason it doesn't appeal to me anymore. I went 1/3rd the way through Halo 4's campaign and stopped playing. Played it online for a few hours and put it away. I ended up giving it to my son and not looking back. I never had the urge to re visit it. I think I'm just Halo'd out and not a fan of futuristic / sci fi shooters anymore.

At the same time I'm hesitant about a new Gears not being in Epics hands. That and how they finished the story in 3. I just don't see a viable way as to how they can move the series forward or how it will transition into this new generation but I'm excited to see what they will have to offer. Will it be a whole new cast of characters, new enemies, new world, what innovations will the newer engine bring to the fans of the series.

COD without question will generate more hype over Halo 5 because, like already said, it's coming out this year and not 2015 like Halo 5. I just hope they do something a little different because IMO Ghost was the worst COD game I've played so far in the series.

Advanced Warfare cos it's releasing this year, while Halo 5 is releasing next year. Simple.

corvusmd3632d ago

That is a good point, AW will hold the hype sooner because it's more relevant. However, I can only speak for myself and say that while I'll get AW...I'm more hyped for Halo 5

christocolus3632d ago

With activision annualizing Cod its safe to say Halo will be going against a new COD game by the time its launched.

mhunterjr3632d ago (Edited 3632d ago )

Do people really get 'hyped' for COD. To me it seems like people just buy it on impulse.

I think halo5 will be more hyped (deservedly), but the cod game will still sell more copies, by virtue of being on more consoles.

Halo 5 will actually be going up against something other than Advance Warfare. It will be the second cod game to benefit from the 3 year dev cycle, and likely built on the new engine. I doubt it will be Halo quality, but it could be impressive.

I don't really care about either. The only game that deserved my HYPE is Project Beast!

I choose door number three, Destiny.

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics384d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS384d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack384d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai384d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop384d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE384d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

Master Chief Became More Than A Machine In 343's Halo

In Halo 4, 5, and Infinite, Master Chief became a more nuanced, human character.

In spite of the Halo series’ struggles, 343 deserves praise for adding nuance and characterisation to the ever-beating heart of Halo - The Master Chief. Playing through Infinite, it's abundantly clear that the events of the current and previous trilogies have irrevocably changed the iconic hero. He’s no longer the ‘blank slate’ that was previously presented by Bungie. He’s a fatigued, damaged and fallible protagonist, and one who is meandering through currents of grief, while reveling in his newfound agency. Giving the Chief a compelling and meaningful voice was no small feat, and 343 should be proud of that victory.

This article completely misses part of the appeal of the original iteration of character in the original game trilogy. It was the Chief and Cortana vs an entire alien collective. The blank slate Bungie displayed in their games was genius, he was an mysterious hero a wide audience could identify with because he wasn't as clearly defined as most characters.

The books added a lot of lore and backstory but most Halo players just want a fun game with exposition that doesn't get in the way of gameplay, it's why the Cortana level in Halo 3 was derided.

Not every character has to be a damaged soyboy, a soldier has to suck it up and do his duty.

BandarHub408d ago

A lot of people give the 343 version of Master Chief a lot of slack.
But Fundamentally he is still the same character, he just has a couple more dialogues. He has not changed in terms of attitude.
"Not every character has to be a damaged soyboy, a soldier has to suck it up and do his duty."
And that's what he has done at the end of the day, he did his duty. Watch his partner die, and was ready to destroy the weapon in Halo infinite....he is still the same soilder that everyone remembers

Halo Infintes one was a nice balance between both.

Chief and the halo franchise became a joke under 343

Sciurus_vulgaris408d ago

The 343i Master Chief has is based on the books. However, in Halo 4-Infinite, the Master Chief overtime become. gradually becomes more willing to show some emotion.

Obscure_Observer408d ago

"However, in Halo 4-Infinite, the Master Chief overtime become. gradually becomes more willing to show some emotion."

Which is awesome! I love how Master Chief become more John and less soldier.
