New Bugatti Chiron Prototype Spotted

Another prototype of the Bugatti Chiron was caught on camera in Italy, showing its body in minimal camouflage.

The hypercar, which was scooped by a driver and posted to Instagram, will become the official successor to the iconic Veyron and it will draw inspiration from the Vision GT Concept, as confirmed by Bugatti.

The main differences in its front fascia, from what we know so far, are related to its headlights. These differ from the ones used on the one-off show car, as seen on another prototype used for crash-testing. However, the grille seems to be maintained in a similar form.

Moving on to its side profile, we see additional similarities, but things seem to be different when it comes to the rear end. Here is where Bugatti changed the LED strip for regular taillights, added a toned down diffuser and lowered the exhaust system. The crease may indicate a retractable rear wing, replacing the massive one and reminding us of its ‘father’.

The new ‘hypercar’ from the VW Group is reportedly using the same 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine as its predecessor, but the total output is being raised to approximately 1,500 HP. Chances are, electric motors will contribute and allow it to reach a top speed of around 290 mph or over 460km/h.

The Bugatti Chiron (name not confirmed) is believed to be unveiled by the end of this year. This was suggested by a brand insider contacted by Carscoops. The final price of the exotic ride should stand at $2.2 million and several deposits are rumored to have already been made.
