Yeah I LOVE the casting choices. A bunch of unfamiliars. Well semi-unfamiliar. Just no HUGE names to the cast aside from the originals. So excited about John Boyega being in the cast. He killed it in Attack the Block.

OT- Cannot wait for Battlefront. My favorite Star Wars game next to Rogue Squadron, KOTOR, and Force Unleashed.

I'm a massive SW fan, but I'll pass on anything from DICE/EA...I can't understand why anyone would be excited for this after BF4...I have no faith in them to produce a not broken game, especially considering all the similarities between Battlefront and Battlefield. Until they prove me wrong (which I don't think they will after the last 2 battlefields) I will not buy this.

This could go either way. I'll give an example: Activison owns Beenox, a studio that has made four Spider-Man games. The first game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, is actually a pretty great and under-rated game that not only had tons of comic book style, but also featured a who's who of Spidey's rogue's gallery. Conversely, their last effort (The Amazing Spider-Man) while not a bad game was so basic and uninspired. It didn't have any decent villains, an impactful storyline or any real style; it felt like a typical movie tie-in game.

If a Star Wars game attempts to tie directly into the movies by continuing story threads, or even possibly filling in the gaps between the upcoming trilogy, then it is going to be really difficult for it to be worthwhile. Not impossible, just difficult. However, if they choose to flesh out the "new" expanded universe, then there are plenty of opportunities for creativity. Personally, I can't wait.

So... forget Anything we licensed and made money off of you buying books, and comics...even the ill-fated Ewok TV series. None of that counts...unless it was one of our movies or the Clone Wars cartoon cause that was cool. Beyond that it means nothing... But now anything new made will be cannon so you better buy all this stuff cause this is the real story... not the other stuff...this stuff...the new stuff.

Pretty amazing...way to try and re-write history to sell the importance of the new product. Star Wars has been on a Death March for years despite a rabid core fan base, I am not sure this new "revelation" will do anything to counter that.

I understand what you guys are saying about BF4 and DICE but just because it was buggy doesn't mean it was a bad game and to be fair that was mainly the multiplayer that was buggy.

If EA didn't rush it out to compete last year with cod maybe they could have done an extensive beta (longer then the one they had obviously) and they would have released a much more polished game.

The Star Wars EU certainly had its fair share of shovelware and poorly thought out dime novels, but it had some real masterpieces in there as well. If they're going to just jettison Exar Kun, Kyle Katarn, Thrawn, Mara Jade, Talon Karrde, and all of the rich history that's built up over the years, they had better start off this new cycle with something worth the trade-off.

This could be for the best, or it could be the worst mistake yet. Having a Battlefront style game lead off the new videogame canon is a sketchy move to me. I'm willing to wait and see, but I won't be holding my breath.
