Pixel Critique's month-long look back at the 30 games that defined 2004, goes on a bit of an MMO run, and finds it difficult to come up with anything new to say about World of Warcraft.
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the opening of beta registrations for “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” inviting players to explore new subterranean worlds beneath Azeroth.
Danish from eXputer: "Despite Blizzard's attempt to give a fresh new spin to World of Warcraft, some fans still seem to be stuck in the past."
HG writes: "Blizzard is usually pretty bad at keeping secrets, but the company somehow managed to keep this one under wraps until now. Plunderstorm is a special limited-time event that’s basically World of Warcraft’s take on the Battle Royale genre."
TL;DR: I wish the game was harder again like Vanilla/BC.
I remember when I first joined WoW. It was only a couple of months before the Burning Crusade expansion came out. Meaning I was only around 12 years old at the time. I showed my brother the game and he decided he would pay for an account for both of us to use.
Little did we realize the problems we would have as we both tried to play at the same time and kicked each other out.
At that time I never wanted to quest so instead I would literally sit at a dungeon entrance and spam LFG until we had all the members. Back in this time, for those that don't know, there was no simple method of finding a group. No system to do it for you, only macros. So I literally spent around half of the burning crusade grinding dungeons UNTIL I found out this thing called Quest Helper. Which made questing SO much easier. Yet at this time it still felt like it took ages to level up.
And now when I think of it... I wish I could go back to when the game wasn't too easy...
Played for a few months back in the day, when my 360 broke. First mmo experience and I had my fun, but I had a better time, having recently gotten into mmos, with games like the Secret World, Defiance and Guild Wars 2.
i cant believe this game is still alive and consumes peoples lives. i remember celeb Mila Kunis even saying she as addicted and had to stop lol.
i can truly say this game was simply amazing for the 5 years i played it for, and the only reason i still dont play is because my laptop took a dump.
There isnt any other mmo that even comes close to the fun factor that WoW had
