Titanfall Will Have Giant Alien Monsters, But they Won't Enter the Maps

Looks like Titanfall's lore is rich of alien life, in the form of assorted alien monsters, including some gigantic leviathans.

Looks like one thing Respawn will do really well are skyboxes. I loved the background scenery on the map in the beta (can't remember it's name).

Imagine battling it out in a titan against another titan with that huge monster looming in the background. Epic.

Dirtnapstor3723d ago

Sounds sweet! Reminds me of All Stars Battle Royale!!!

Potential SP material wasted on backdrops. However it truly does sound pretty cool. Looking forward to it on my 360.

KendrickLamar3723d ago (Edited 3723d ago )

Do you know how awesome that would be? Riding a Titan and fighting a giant alien whilst fighting other Titans at the same time! SWEET!
Alas....
Oh well, I hope DICE makes a Dinosaur mode in Battlefield 5

BelkingOfSony3723d ago

I want a new turok game made instead

Deividas3723d ago (Edited 3723d ago )

So they are just for for looks in the background? Thats really disappointing..first hearing about the rumor that there would be these creatures in the map got me kind of excited. Fighting those with Titans would just be awesome and really create a very cool atmosphere during the matches

MysticStrummer3723d ago

That might be something added later I suppose.

FragMnTagM3723d ago

DLC!

Gotta get that residual somehow.

Maybe it could be Titanfalls "zombie" mode.

Summons753723d ago

That would mean we would get a game that requires coordination between players and complex thought and development on the devs side....That would be a highly interesting and fun game that would make the devs standout in the industry.

As it is this game is COD with robots =/

mhunterjr3723d ago

Give it a break. If we could fight the monsters, everyone would say 'it's just COD with mechs and monsters.

Right now it's COD with parkour, mechs, completely different weapons, minions, campaign multiplayer, different map design philosophy,... at what point do you realize it's a different game?

Hicken3723d ago

No, adding monsters would have been really damn cool. Adding monsters to COD would be rely damn cool, and I hate the yearly rehash that is Call Of Duty.

You're just making an attempt at saying "you wouldn't care, anyway," which is an all too common response when people don't accept that others don't like the same thing.

minimur123723d ago

If you've played the beta, you'll know the game is nothing like CoD besides the FPS genre, if you have played it and are saying its a cod clone, your lying.

I dislike FPS, I'm terrible at them, but Titanfall,I really like, I was actually surprised how much I like it to be honest. I signed up just to try it out, and I'm now considering getting it. (Maybe not day of release but I will along the line hopefully.)
I saw a reddit post that is perfect for this quote, it has this quote:
'Its just cod with robots'
Then it says after
But with a futuristic setting, jetpacks, parkour, burn cards Custom load out for the pilot and titan, and its just 6v6

Oh, and there's no campers either ( from theaps I've been in anyway, its hard to camp when you can run around like a badass
XD

Talidan3723d ago

It would be very interesting. Not only Team vs Team, but both teams defending and fighting against an enemy as well.

That would be an interesting dynamic.

That would be so awesome, but this was quotes from the 'The Art of Titanfall' book:

Creatures... "will walk or fly around levels harmlessly until people interfere. Others will attack when you just stare at them."

So while I'm not sure about the big ones, there are some creatures/monsters that will do that :D

Are you shitting me? I've got screen jelly/tearing and overall crappy performance and they wanna add more geometry? Needs to be very basic gifs or my poor X1 is going to be like the witch in the Wizard of Oz...

Gr1mmyshadows3722d ago

The shell are you talking about, not once did I have any issue playing this game. It ran completely smooth on my XB1. You are really trying hard to troll here. If you don't like the XB1 then why not return it or sell it to somebody else???????

Mexxan3721d ago

Blind adoration. I paid my money, I'll give an opinion. 'Troll' accusations are soooo last year. I really enjoyed the beta, but it needs work on the frame rate and screen tearing. Can't see it? Don't care...

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad598d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g598d ago (Edited 598d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad879d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal877d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
