Eskimo Press: With Dark Souls 2 on the horizon we revisited the excellent Dark Souls to relive the many thrilling boss battles you come across in Lordran. Of course any encounter in Dark Souls can be deadly if you aren’t careful, and the road to a boss can be just as challenging as the boss fight itself. In any case, triumphing over a big baddie in Dark Souls is extremely rewarding in a way that few games in recent years have matched. This list is not only based on difficulty, atmosphere and the feelings evoked matter just as much. So let’s take a look at our top five Dark Souls boss battles!
"Dark Souls: Archthrones is like playing a brand new FromSoftware game, and that speaks volumes about just how much good modding can do," says Hanzala from eXputer.
Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way. Why?
i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)
I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.

... I am starting to get a little scared of what kind of boss battles will be in Dark Souls 2...
Yeah this list is great
I remember talking to my friend on Xbox Live and he told me I needed to head back to the Asylum for the Rusted Iron Ring and Peculiar Doll. So off I went and suddenly the floor breaks underneath me and I hear my friend pissing himself laughing at me over my yells of fear and desperation. Love it.
