Heartbreaking
This sweet little boy found abandoned and left alone in an empty apartment today when his former owner moved. Witnesses stated that she moved over a week ago and has not returned. Neighbors stated that they could hear a small dog crying and barking from within the apartment. The dog was left with a blanket and a bag of dog kibble in the apartment when maintenance crews found him. The floor was riddled with urine and feces.
Abandoned and Alone
Once the owner was contacted by the apartment management, she quickly surrendered the dog stating that her new apartment "won't accept pets". According to neighbors, this woman had TWO chihuahuas at one time. The whereabouts of the other chihuahua are unknown. We have very little information on this sweet dog's health history. His rescuer has found him with long & twisted toenails, and infected eye, bad skin, badly needed dental care and a terrible limp that seems to be the result of possible hip dysplasia.

He is currently in a temporary care with a neighbor (where he has been newly named Kimo). Kimo needs immediate medical care and attention until he can find his forever home.
His caregiver will be taking him in for a general check-up to see what his current needs are. Other than the obvious, we are hoping that there is no need for surgery on his hips. Although every effort will be taken to care for this sweet dog, funds are limited. The current caregiver is already taking care of two special needs pets and could use the help of caring individuals such as yourself.
Currently, we are hoping to collect funds in the amount of $2500 to cover general costs. However, this amount is not static. We will be posting progress as well as proof of costs and any other pertinent information.
