Customizable Luxury at Haus Alkire in Tribeca

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome back to What's In Store, a Racked feature where we fill you in on what's in stock at the city's best stores right this second.

Made-in-New-York brand Haus Alkire's Tribeca boutique is tucked into a small, pristine storefront on White Street, and offers two options for clients: shop straight off the rack, or customize select pieces down to the color and material. Designers Julie Haus and Jason Alkire founded the brand in 2010, and have since gone on to aquire a handful of top-notch awards, like the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award for womenswear. Last year's fall collection was sponsored by Swarovski.

Prints from the spring 2014 collection were inspired by old cars, and pieces in preceding the resort collection are based off of photos taken during Hurricane Sandy, like one of Washington Square Park at night and another of candlelights flickering in the darkness.
