Small arms, major transgressions: Exploring homicidal deaths by firearms in city of Faisalabad, PakistanObjectives: To analyze the data regarding prevalence of homicidal deaths due to firearm. Study Design: Descriptive, Observational, Retrospective study. Setting: Postmortem unit of Allied Hospital Faisalabad. Period: From January 1st, 2017 to December 31st, 2017. Material & Methods: After approval, data was obtained from the duplicate copies of autopsy reports kept at the postmortem unit of Allied Hospital Faisalabad. The data was then entered on a pre-designed Performa. Results: During the year 2017, 80 cases of firearm were autopsied at the postmortem unit of Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, of which 78 were homicidal. Out of 78 cases autopsied, 67 (85.9%) were males & 11(14.1%) were females. The fatality rate was highest (46.2%) between 21-40 years whereas; the least affected age group was > 60 years (10.3%). Multiple body parts were mostly affected, the percentage being 47.4%. It is worth mentioning that out of 78 cases only one victim was shot by smooth bored weapon (1.3%) while...

Analysis of homicidal deaths in Peshawar, PakistanHomicide is one ofthe oldest crimes in human civilization. For every person who dies as a result of homicide, many more are injured. A study of the patterns of homicide in a society is one of the first steps in developing strategies to prevent it. This study was conducted at the department of Forensic Medicine Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, to know the patterns of homicide, taking it as the first step in the prevention of this crime. This study includes 520 cases of homicide out of the total of 662 medico-legal autopsies conducted at Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, during the year 2002. The cases have been labeled as homicide on the basis of autopsy and police inquest. The homicide rate for Peshawar during the period under study was 22.9/100,000. Males constituted 86.15% ofthe victims. 32% of the victims were in their third decade of life. Firearms were the causative agent in 86% of the cases. Chest was the primarily targeted area of the body. The highest number of homicides oc...

Objective: To determine the weaponry pattern due to homicidal deaths in tertiary case setup . Materials & Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study was held in Forensic Medicine Department, Khyber Medical College, Peshawar from Jan 2016 – June 2016. Out of total 537 autopsies in this department, 377 samples of homicidal deaths were taken and studied in detail. A pre-designed questionnaire with demographic details was used as research tool. SPPS v 25.0 was used as analytical tool, categorical variables were presented/tabulated in the form of frequency and percentages while numerical variables were presented in the form mean ± S.D. Results: Out of 377 autopsies, in 86.7% cases cause of death was due to firearm injury followed by sharp cutting object 6.1%, bomb blast and ligature related deaths were 3.2% and blunt trauma had only 0.8% cases. The male to female preponderance of homicidal cases is not unique one with male more dominant with 87.5% and only 12.5% female cases. The cau...

Determinants of fungal cell wall morphology: the vesicle supply center1995 •
Because fungal cell walls are shaped during construction, factors that regulate wall biogenesis must play a decisive role in morphogenesis. By delivering ingredients for wall formation in vesicles, fungi have a de facto mechanism to mold their own shape. The gradients in wall formation required for cell morphogenesis ensue from the pattern of vesicle discharge. A vesicle-based, mathematical model of fungal morphogenesis revealed that a relatively simple process could establish these gradients. The model and its underlying hyphoid equation assumes that wall-building vesicles emanate from a vesicle supply center (VSC). The VSC serves as an organizing center from which vesicles would move radially to the cell surface in all directions at random. VSC displacement is then an immediate cause of morphogenesis: a sustained linear displacement of the VSC would generate a polarized pattern of exocytosis required to make a hypha. The model predicts that the Spitzenkörper functions as a VSC. We...

Application of Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System in the Process of Transportation Support2013 •
The possibility for more confidential predictions, leaning on scientific methods and accomplishments of information technology leaves more time for the realization of logistic needs. Longstanding ambitions to acquire desired levels of efficiency within the system with minimal costs of resources, materials, energy and money are the features of executive structures of logistic systems. A successful logistic process is based on validation of technological development, indicating the need for a faster and more confidential integration of logistic systems and "instilling confidence" with military units that provide critical support (supply, transport and maintenance) will be reliably realized according to relevance and priority. Conclusions like these impose the necessity that the decision-making process of logistic organs is accessed carefully and systematically, since any wrong decision leads to a reduced state of readiness for military units. To facilitate the day-to-day ope...

The Effectiveness of Using Linktree and Wordwall Applications on IPS Learning Outcomes for Class V SDN Cilangkap 012021 •
In this globalization era, the development of technology and information is increasingly fast, and it has given a major impact on the world of education. The emergence of various technology applications used to support online learning is because of the development. Linktree and Wordwall applications are new alternatives that students can use in the online learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using Linktree and Wordwall Applications on IPS learning outcomes for Class V Students. This study is quantitative research which requires the use of numbers, starting from data collection, interpretation of the data, as well as the appearance of the results and conclusions. . The method in this study is the correlational method. This method is used to reveal the relationship and the degree of relationship between two or more variables. The data is collected from questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The results of this study indicate that there ...
