The Elder Scrolls Online: Why the Character Animations Look so Strange?

The Elder Scrolls character animation doesn't feel right and most of the actions resemble Dragon Age Origins, a RPG released five years ago. Facts and comparisions are made in order to obtain a solid conclusion.

My thoughts, before reading the article, are because it was intended to be first person. However the masses wanted a third person view so, while the animations were worked on, they weren't exactly fixed.

Edit: After reading the article, I see they decided to just complain and not even answer their own question. So I will stick with my original idea.
