Who Should Be In "Fantastic Beasts" With Eddie Redmayne?

    We know Eddie Redmayne's likely to play main character Newt Scamander, but who else would we like to see populate this new (old) wizarding world?

    Reports circulated this week giving us our first real glimpse at who will populate Newt Scamander's life during his explorations of the North American wizarding world.

    The reported characters are named Tina, Queenie, and Jacob.

    Tina and Queenie are sisters, while Jacob is said to be Newt's rival.

    There are already several actors reported to be testing for each role.

    But considering that no one has been actually cast yet, there's still time for some fancasting fun. Here are some options Warner Bros. should consider for Queenie:

    Gugu Mbatha-Raw

    Tina's older sister, Queenie's been described as a "bombshell" according to Variety reporter Justin Kroll. Mbatha-Raw's character in Beyond The Lights was certainly a bombshell, and her performance in that film (as well as in 2013's Belle) have shown the depths she can bring to any role.

    She's got the prestige (Mad Men), she's got the indie cred (Dear White People) — and she could absolutely hold her own (and then some) acting opposite Eddie Redmayne as they explore the world of 1920s New York and whatever magical wildlife may lie in store.

    She became a Golden Globe winner after only nine episodes of her show Jane The Virgin had aired. That's some starpower right there. I think the general goal right now should be "put this woman in all the things."

    For Tina:

    She's done the franchise thing before (see: Divergent), and so knows what it takes. Tina is also described as "grounded," and whatever that means I'm sure Kravitz could make it her own.

    Arden Cho

    Cho's still mainly known by the Teen Wolf audience, but she's got an optimistic energy that most definitely lends itself to looking at magical creatures in wonder.

    She's already part of the Marvel universe thanks to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., so a move to a Harry Potter property would be a logical step in fandom dominance.

    And for Jacob:

    The Harry Potter franchise has always been populated with a lot of acting prowess, so why not add in Oscar nominee Ejiofor to play the chief rival of Oscar winner Redmayne and keep up the tradition?

    He's another one with some serious acting street cred. I have no doubt he could kick this role's ass.

    Serious acting cred, part three. Isaac's about to have a major (MAAAAJOR) franchise moment with Star Wars, so why not funnel some of that upcoming residual energy into the hype for Fantastic Beasts? He and Redmayne together would kill it.
