Lane Closures This Week as New Tappan Zee Tolls Installed
Closures will be on I-87 and I-287 southbound.
A section of the right lane of I-87 and I-287 southbound will be closed for a few days this week as Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) continue building the New York State Thruway Authority’s temporary all-electronic toll collection system, according to officials.
The closures will be today, April 6, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews install foundations for the overhead gantry on the right side of the southbound Thruway near exit 10 in South Nyack. The work includes drilling holes in the soil and rock to create reinforced concrete foundations.

Officials said “noise levels will be monitored and noise attenuation procedures are in place to reduce impacts on local residents.”
An additional right lane closure will occur on southbound on I-87 and I-287 near exit 9 (Tarrytown – Sleepy Hollow – NY Route 9) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on today, April 6, and Tuesday “to complete repairs on an existing collision impact attenuator.”
