The exhibit will feature photography by Kathy Lener and Jaime Martorano, two photographers who captured images of the world’s best known musicians in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

Many of the photos were taken well before these artists were famous, but all of them capture the brimming talent and creative force that sent them on to stardom.

This is the first time this collection of photographs have been seen together. It includes original photography by Lener and Martorano as well as photos from their own private collection with works by Annie Leibovitz and Ron Galella.

The entire exhibit includes images of David Bowie, John Lennon, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry REM, U2, Joan Jett, Bruce Springsteen, and the Ramones, to name a few.

“We were looking for the perfect intersection of art and music to showcase at our Tarrytown music school location. When I saw Kathy’s and Jaime’s work, I knew immediately we had found it,” Paul Bessolo, owner of Rock Island Sound.

The photography will be on view from June 17 - July 31, at the Tarrytown store at 54 Main St.

The Opening Night Party will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Public is welcome.
