It's stage based. The levels are procedurally generated.

This is easily one of the best games I played last year. Not sure if I'd enjoy it with touch controls though.

How well does it control? I've enjoyed the PC version but it feels like something to pick up and play for 10 mins on the go.

The touch controls are as good as they possibly can be. They're no replacement for physical controls, but after playing for a while, I can't blame any of my deaths on the controls.

Bought it but the controls are abysmal compared to the steam version as you'd expect. Imagine you could get used to it but I think I'm good. Threes will remain my break game of choice.

took a screencap, showing the controls as well

they're about what you'd expect. im obviously doing worse than on PC but I feel like I can get used to them better

performance is pretty much flawless

I found it helpful to turn off the on screen buttons. Its just so less cluttered that way

I saw this on a few top mobile games lists a couple weeks back when I knew I'd have to game on my phone for a few days. Was disappointed to see this wasn't on the Play Store.

Nice to see it is here not long after! :D

These are the sorts of games I like on portable devices and never play on consoles/PC. So insta purchase. Had a couple of goes. Seems fun. Obviously would work better with buttons but they have done as good as you can hope I think. Be interesting if Bluetooth keyboard works though as I can use it on my tablet then.

...and bought! Thanks for the heads up! I bought this on Steam when in first came out and now I can finally play it on the go. What an awesome game and well worth the price.

Thanks - I had $2.50 in Google Play credit thanks to Google Play Rewards, so this only cost me $0.50 out of pocket. Gonna download this to the OUYA and see if it has gamepad support instantly.

Well, that was a bust - OUYA isn't supported at all. Minor bummer.

I like it and it's very well made, but such a fast pure action game will never not feel hampered by the lack of physical buttons, there's just no amount of "getting used to it" that will compensate.

I don't really get why it's getting such a push on mobile, it clearly wasn't designed with the platform's limitations in mind, other than being played vertically. Before buying I totally assumed it at least had a tilt control method similar to Ridiculous Fishing.

On-screen buttons are miles better than tilting for a game like this. I love Ridiculous Fishing, but flailing my phone around while trying to play this would drive me insane.

The first thing I did this morning was buying this game. Been waiting for it to come out on Android since last year.

The game is gonna destroy my Nexus 4's battery. Will definitely need to buy a new phone this year.

I unfortunately can't play it on my Samsung Galaxy Note II (as per the Play Store saying it isn't compatible), but I already have the PC version to tide me over.

And I really wanted to double-dip...

This makes it a bit easier to go back to Android, lol. Superb game.

BTW, if the controls don't click with you immediately, please keep giving it a chance. It definitely works, I play it more often on my phone than on PC.

Already told the dev team about an issue on Asus Zenfone 2. Runs great on my Shield Tablet. Amazing game.

Thanks for this heads-up. My Asus Zenfone 2 is the only Android device I have. I wonder if the problem is down to the Intel processor, and is thus maybe unfixable? Or do I not know what I'm talking about?

The Zenfone 2 uses an x86 Intel Atom SoC, which is really out of the ordinary. Whilst apps are fine, most games tend to require custom builds for x86 processors. You might be waiting a while.

I told them in the email it was likely due to the Intel processor. It would not surprise me one bit. I don't mind waiting for this excellent game though.

Great fun on a tablet even if they recommend phones.

Amazing game! The controls feel great to me, but I have never tried the PC version. This is honestly the first action game i've enjoyed playing on my phone.

I believe there is an app that allows you to run android games on a pc through an emulator.

This game is the perfect mobile game. Only a few controls so it works decently with a touch screen, and play sessions are short. Easily worth a few bucks.

I'll get the Steam version eventually, but I really dig Downwell as something to pick up and play for a round or two on mobile. Despite picking up severall Humble mobile bundles and using free Amazon and Google Play credits, I basically never game on my phone. This is honestly the first game that has clicked for me as a mobile experience.

I've been waiting for this to hit Android for a few months. Disappointed it doesn't work on my tablet. Stil having tons of fun with with it on my phone though. It really has that old arcade game feel to it.
