Force Awakens score: John Williams' Star Wars music streaming

John Williams’ score for Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace was released two weeks before George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel arrived in theaters. Which wouldn’t have been so bad, save for the title of track No. 15: “Qui-Gon’s Noble End.”

So perhaps in an effort to keep spoilers for The Force Awakens away from digital music platforms and CD cases the world over, the release of Williams’ score was held until the film’s debut. Fans fresh from seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens can now listen to the 83-year-old’s music on streaming platforms, including Spotify.

While the track titles aren’t as obvious as “Qui-Gon’s Noble End,” there are small spoilers abound, including “Han and Leia,” “Torn Apart,” and “The Jedi Steps and Finale.”

Williams was also tasked with composing a theme for Daisy Ridley’s Rey, appropriately called “Rey’s Theme,” and it can be heard throughout the score as well.

“It’s almost cheating, when you have John Williams, because he writes feelings,” Abrams told 60 Minutes in a recently televised interview. “He knows how to make your heart soar like no one else.”
