Black Nazarene Thanksgiving procession delayed

Hundreds of devotees attended the thanksgiving procession of the image of the Black Nazarene at the Plaza Miranda early Thursday.

The image was brought out of the Quiapo church at about 4 a.m., but there was a delay in the procession because of the volume of people who were pushing and shoving to get near the image.

Church officials decided to being the image back into the church, before it is brought out again.

The thanksgiving procession is traditionally held on January 1, after the New Year's eve revelry. This year officials, considering the safety of the people, the activity was held a day early. — BAP/DVM, GMA News
