Mazda CX-5 - Motorshow Focus

Gets minor changes to the interior and exterior.

The new Mazda CX-5 had been showcased at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show in April. The crossover had received a minor facelift at the Geneva Motor Show in March to keep it looking contemporary.

All the changes have taken place at the front.

The exterior has received changes mainly to the face that stay true to Mazda's KODO - Soul of Motion - design language. The grille is a five-slat horizontal chrome piece that is redesigned along with new fog lamp enclosures. The dimensions of the crossover are 4,555 mm, 1,840 mm and 1,670 mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase stands at 2,700 mm.

Mazda says that the interior has also been updated with better quality of materials and ornamentation feel. The functionality of the cockpit has been improved as well with greater emphasis placed on the driver, based on the automaker's Human-Machine Interface (HMI). Connectivity to internet and social media sites have been made easier with smartphone support for the Mazda Connect infotainment system.

The cabin has been updated to a more driver-focused layout.

In China, the CX-5 is offered with a 2.0-liter engine producing 155 hp and 200 Nm of torque , and a 2.5-liter unit churning out 195 hp and 252 Nm of peak torque. Both engines can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
