A new Audi RS3 sedan is in the works, and it’s coming to America in 2017 as a 2018-model car. A source within the company leaked more details to Car and Driver, confirming that the ‘18 RS3 will get a new, more powerful engine as well. It’s a tried and true formula we adore: more power + small Audi = yes, please.

We won’t be getting the beloved 2.5-liter turbo five cylinder engine from the current European RS3 or the last-gen TT RS, but rather, Car and Driver reports that an all new 2.5-liter turbo five is on the way for the 2018 model year. It will feature a single turbo and be good for close to 400 horsepower. That’s a significant little bump in power over the current model!

Yes. 400 horsepower. In that little car. Yes, please. Send to me. SEND THIS TO ME NOW.

That new engine will be shared with the new TT RS, so here’s hoping it’s as good as the last one. A DQ500 seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will put the power to the ground.

That’s disappointingly not a manual, but getting tasty new high-performance Audis at all right now feels like a miracle, given the Volkswagen Group’s big diesel problem.

Welcome to America, RS3.
