Banking apps are traditionally terrible and slow to adopt new features. That has never been the case with Simple, and the developers are reminding us of that with an update that (among other things) adds support for Nexus Imprint.

Here's the full changelog for Simple v2.5.6.

  • Good news, adventurers! Now you can use the app to give us a heads up about your international travel plans. That way, we can (when possible) raise your daily spending limit and clear card use in specific countries.
  • Unlock the app with Nexus Imprint.
  • Add memos to your Instant Transfers to let the recipient know what the payment is for.
  • We completely rebuilt the Payments feature. One happy result: you can see if your Pay a Bill contacts accept electronic payments.

Nexus Imprint, in case you can't keep track of all the branding, is the fingerprint reader built into the Nexus 5X and 6P. It's not clear if that means all Android 6.0 devices with fingerprint readers are supported, though. The new app also includes transfer memos, and the payments feature lets you know when a contact has accepted payment.

This will, of course, only matter to those of you with Simple accounts. Everyone else can go on using their inferior banking apps.
