Blumhouse horror at its most banal. The Gallows kicks off in a dudesploitation styled video prankster way, then around the 30 min mark turns into predictable found footage/urban myth horror. Its acted like an episode of Goosebumps, only less scary.
I'd recommend the 100 or so similar films this copies before giving this a try (so no recommend seeing as most of those sucked). Theres actually worse recent horrors, but I can't recall being this bored shitless during a film in years.
