- Deadpool follows Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), who is a former Special Forces operative and now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
The new Marvel action film holds nothing back sporting a Rated R rating. True to the “Merc with a Mouth” character, Ryan delivers a hilarious and over-the-top super hero. Overall the film breaks the mold of the traditional superhero film, filled with gratuitous violence and crass jocular content.
The extras included with this release have the usual, audio commentary, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. Other additional content involves concept art along with a collection of teaser videos and interviews for the theatrical release affectionately called “Deadpool’s Fun Sack.”
Another notable difference in this release is a disc that boots right to the main menu! This deviates from what we’re normally used to with Fox home videos, so this was a welcome change.
