Missed Treatment: Soldiers With Mental Health Issues Dismissed For 'Misconduct'
The Army has "separated" more than 22,000 soldiers for "misconduct" since 2009 — often without benefits — after they returned from war with mental health problems or brain injuries.

I am both appalled that the government is treating our soldiers like this yet also not surprised.
Horoho (the Army's surgeon general) claimed that the investigation showed only 2 providers showed a "lack of dignity and respect" but clearly this is a systemic problem. Why else would a therapist have sent that email stating she would expedite the process of clearing her patient who she admitted may have a significant behavioral health condition. The focus would seem to be on clearing the military of as much financial liability as possible with no regard to the service members.
Shameful.
