Monterey Car Week is here, but this red Lamborghini Miura S is not the one RM Auctions will sell at Pebble. As the latest stunning Petrolucious tale reveals, this baby isn’t for sale just yet.
The 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV from the Pinnacle Portfolio is chassis number 4905, and we still wish zziro all the best in getting her back one day after his dad sold the car in 1997 to buy their new home. The car you see here is also American, but chassis number 4804 is a 1970 Miura S.
Dennis Varni first sat in a Miura in 1966, and although he fell in love with Lamborghini’s first supercar at that instant, he couldn’t quite fork out $19,000 for the car after spending $11,000 on buying a house. He needed more than a decade to get there.
In 1979, Miuras were relatively cheap to buy, so Mr. Varni took the opportunity to get his stunning S, which he cherishes ever since. Being a hot rod guy, the Miura also opened up his garage for all sorts of different unique machines including a 200S Maserati, a 300SL Mercedes, a Ferrari Dino, a Jaguar D-Type, a Healey, Alfas like a one-off C2500, a Yellowstone Bus and numerous hot rods of course.
A nice dinner with your wife, then it’s time to get back to the garage. There’s always a lot to do.
