Universal Colleges of Parañaque grad tops May 2016 CPA exams


A graduate of the Universal Colleges of Parañaque topped the May 2016 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination, according to the statement of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released early Tuesday.

Karim Gonzales Abitago emerged first among 2,967 passers with his 92.17 percent rating. 

Following him is Kimjames Sarapanan Manalo of the COR Jesu College (Holy Cross of Digos) with a rating of 91.83 percent. 

Meanwhile, six students from University of San Carlos in Cebu made it to the top 10.

The rest of the successful examinees who garnered the top 10 highest places are as follows:

3. Jayvee Faust Bugtai Anga, University of San Jose-Recoletos, 91.67 percent;

4. Trisha Claire Yu Cabanlit, University of San Carlos, 91.33 percent;

5. Ervin Michael Bendulo Cavalida, University of San Carlos, 91.17 percent;

6. Clare Monica Gako Pilapil, University of San Carlos, 90.83 percent;

7. Blessy Batausa Doylabo, University of Mindano-Davao City; Adrianne Paul Ignacio Fajatin, University of Manila; Jomar Leona Lumagbas, Eastern Visayas State University; and Elyzzah Kaye Cadalin Torres, University of San Jose-Recoletos; all of them got 90.67 percent;

8. Shenen Mae Talaboc Goc-Ong, University of San Jose-Recoletos, 90.33 percent;

9. Patrick Villaluz Cipriano, De La Salle-Araneta University; Joshua Abundo Echivarre, University of San Carlos; Marc Raphael Nazareno Ong, University of San Carlos; Kenny Tabilaran, University of San Jose-Recoletos; all of them got 90.17 percent;

10. Sarah Mansueto Balisacan, University of San Carlos, 90 percent.

 

The PRC announced that 2,967 of 6,925 examinees passed the exams given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi. 

Meanwhile, De La Salle University-Manila was identified as the top performing school, with 54 out of the 58 takers passing the exam. 

It was followed by the University of Santo Tomas, with 84 passers out of the 93 takers. 

University of San Jose-Recoletos grabbed the third place, with 108 passers out of the 133 takers.
