Having appeared last year as the murderous Macbeth, it seems Michael Fassbender is really getting into a killer groove. He's now in talks to play a serial slaughterer in true crime tale Entering Hades.

Birdman co-writer Alexander Dinelaris is busy polishing up the script that was originally adapted by Bill Wheeler from John Leake's novel. The book looked at the horrifying true tale of Jack Unterweger, an award-winning Austrian journalist and best-selling author who investigated murders. But he went a little deeper into his research than some, racking up a body count of 11 victims across several countries as a serial killer. Shades of 2012's The Iceman, then, which featured a similar double-life story.

In addition to starring, Fassbender is also attached as a producer, and will likely help in the hunt for a director. He's currently busy working on Alien: Covenant for Ridley Scott and has a few films headed to screens including X-Men: Apocalypse (May 18) Assassin's Creed (December 26) and The Light Between Oceans (January 6 next year.)
