Surprising absolutely no one who was paying attention, Activision has confirmed that this year’s entry in the Call of Duty franchise is called Infinite Warfare. It will take us beyond Earth and into space.

While the setting may be in the future, the gameplay in the trailer below looks like classic Call of Duty. Sure, there are robots, zero-G walks and giant space cruisers, but this probably isn’t going to be Halo. You will get to fly spacefighters, though.

In addition (and as last week’s leaked poster revealed) the Legacy edition comes with a remastered version of Modern Warfare 1. It features the campaign and 10 multiplayer maps.

Last year at E3, we asked Activision Publishing president Eric Hirschberg about remasters. “I would love to play Modern Warfare 1 or the original Black Ops,” he told us at the time. “There's certainly a deep well there. No announcements, but it's something we talk about and think about a lot.”

A standalone release for the remastered version has not been announced. For now, all we know is that it comes with the $80 Legacy edition against the standard edition’s $60 price. There’s also a Legacy Pro edition that comes with both games, the season pass, a Steelbook case, the soundtrack, and yet-to-be-detailed digital items.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. No last-gen versions have been announced. Last year’s edition, Black Ops III, on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 featured only the multiplayer and no DLC.
