Ghostbusters is a hit 1984 comedy adventure starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver that is being remade this year with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon (oh, and Chris Hemsworth). Nas is a New York rapper—widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time—who once rapped "It's your brain on drugs, to all fly bitches and thugs / Nuff respect to the projects, I'm ghost, one love." So it only makes sense that a PG remake of a family sci-fi movie and a rapper who mentioned ghosts at least once in a song would collaborate together. Right?

Well, it seems like that's what we're supposed to believe, seeing as Nas just revealed that his clothing line HSTRY is working with Columbia Pictures to produce a line of Ghostbusters-themed apparel. Why? Because...Actually that's a good question. Let's allow Nas to explain:

"We didn't think much about the fashion industry. We didn't care. Ghostbusters is every fun thing you can think of when it comes to the imagination, when it comes to supernatural paranormal activity," Nas said. "I went to Ghostbusters with my mom...and it just took us on a ride."

Hmmm. But just because you've seen a movie doesn't mean it needs its own hip-hop collaboration. Should Jay Z have a line of Frozen shoes because his daughter digs that talking snowman? Not really!

Clothing lines from rappers are absolutely nothing new. A$AP Rocky, a regular feature at fashion events, has a collab with Guess. This makes sense! Beyonce has announced her own clothing line at Topshop. This also makes sense! Even Snoop Dogg having his own pair of Adidas cleats kind of makes sense. But Nas making Ghostbusters apparel? We just don't get it.
