Modern, Stylish San Francisco Rooftop Wedding: Emma + Bubba

San Francisco Rooftop Wedding

Emma + Bubba are anything but conventional, so we just love seeing how their San Francisco wedding perfectly reflected them – with lots of style, and little fuss. Their ceremony was extremely intimate – limited to family only – and they spent tons of time wandering all over San Francisco for a dreamy portrait session with their photographer, Jenn Emerling, and videographer, Wade Koch. For that special shoot, Emma wore a black polka dot skirt, structured white crop top (from Shareen Vintage), and layered graphic jewelry, which totally complemented Bubba’s black suit and polka dot shirt. We think Emma’s style will completely inspire brides-to-be who are going for a beautifully unique bridal look for their day.

From Emma, I think Bubba and I have always been the type that tries to take the road less travelled. For example, on the day we got engaged, we rolled out of bed and both put our rings on at the same time – that was it! We then proceeded to run around town, enjoying the rest of the beautiful day. We posted a photo of our newly engaged ring fingers at breakfast and half my family thought we had eloped ( don’t think we didn’t consider it ). We gave everyone a heart attack! Oops.

We just wanted something that would allow us to be really present and focused on each other and nothing else. We got exactly that.

Emma + Bubba’s rooftop ceremony was witnessed solely by their family – and Emma even surprised her everyone by walking down the aisle in her grandmother’s 1950s wedding dress that had been altered into a beautiful high waisted skirt! Following the ceremony, close friends joined in for a sunset cocktail hour, which featured rosemary-infused champagne.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Instead of writing our own vows, we decided to surprise one another with 3 pieces of literature each. We selected them beforehand and gave them to our officiant in secret. The first one had to be about love (obviously), the second one needed to focus on the responsibilities and seriousness of marriage, and the last one was a wild card - we both went with something funny. We also had to accompany each selection with a reason why we chose it. The whole idea was incredibly entertaining. It was such a wonderful moment to see what we had prepared for each other. We laughed and cried!
