MIKE Scott of Broadstone contacted the Echo after seeing Paul Shee’s photograph of Portchester School class 5A taken in 1964.

Mike who is in the front row, far right, took the picture on a delayed timer and then printed copies for all the members of the class.

He recognised some of the boys in the middle row. Between Paul and Philip Errington is Ernie Willis and just behind between Paul and Ernie is Ken Hale. The boy next to Robert Maddocks could be Brian Simmons and then Jansari.

Mike has kept in touch with Graham Boorer but has not been in contact with Paul Shee, who was also known as Danny, since he left school.

After leaving school Mike studied electronics and electrical engineering, and later applied physics.

Most of his career was spent working in research and development departments, and the last ten years before he retired he was a quality manager for a large industrial company.

Paul Shee originally named the pupils in the back row as David Zadel, Cedric Fawcett, three unknowns, Foster, Mark Dowland and Paul Shee.

Middle row, Graham Boorer, Bernard Pitman, Paul Errington, two unknowns, Philip Errington, Robert Maddocks, an unknown, Matthews, Stephen Pryor, David House, Michael Crocker and Roger Tucker.

Front row, an unknown, Michael Holmes, Smith, the former master Lionel Burgess, Mayne, Barry Mabey and Michael Scott.

Contact Echoes if recognise anyone else in the picture.
