Vienna is a truly beautiful city to not only visit, but to live in. Says who? Says Mercer, the international consulting firm that each year conducts a study to determine which of 230 cities around the world provides the best quality of life, and in 2016 it was decided that Vienna, the Austrian Federal Capital, should take the trophy for most liveable city in the world for the seventh time in a row.

That’s quite an honour, but what conditions determine which city earns the title of most liveable city in the world? Well, the survey carried out considers political and economic stability, demographics, weather conditions, medical care, education, crime rate (or lack of), and infrastructure such as public transportation, power and water supplies. So there are a great number of criteria, even without the more recreational aspects to consider, such as restaurants, theatres, cinemas, sports facilities, youth facilities, consumer goods availability in the likes of both food and vehicle industries, amongst many more. There are also environmental factors, from the amount of greenery in the form of both trees and parks, to air quality, water quality and litter disposal.

There are several more conditions to account for, all of which contribute towards determining which city should earn such a title, and Vienna has proven time and time again that it rightfully deserves the number 1 spot. Check out the infographic made by ViennaPass.com to see why.
