Kobe Bryant plans to play in all of the Los Angeles Lakers’ nine remaining games before ending his career, he said after the team’s 101–81 loss to the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.
Bryant scored 17 points in 23 minutes on Sunday, and said he will continue to play going forward “unless something drastic happens,” according to the team’s Twitter account. Bryant has been nursing a shoulder injury since January, and also missed some time with a sore Achilles that month.
In his 20th and final NBA season, Bryant is averaging 17.1 points, 3.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds over 28.6 minutes per game for the 15–58 Lakers.
