Christina Grimmie, who rose to fame for her appearance on The Voice season 6, was fatally shot on Friday after a concert in Orlando, Florida. The NBC competition show released a statement on Twitter that read in part, “There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice. Our hearts go out to the friends, fans and family of [Grimmie].”

And what a voice it was.

Though she died at the age of 22, Grimmie left behind a body of work that wowed the judges on The Voice and gathered an online fan base thanks to her YouTube channel. Some of her more well-known musical moments include covers of Adele, Justin Bieber, Sia, and Rihanna, as she showed off her piano skills in various videos.

Listen to some of her most impressive performances below.

1. “Hello” — Adele

Grimmie spread holiday cheer last December by posting a cover of Adele’s hit song “Hello.”

2. “Let It Go” — James Bay

The last performance Grimmie posted to her channel was a team-up with the band Before You Exit, the members of which she called “some of my best friends.” Together they sang a soft, soul-moving rendition of James Bay’s “Let It Go.” They reunited again on a tour that kicked off at the end of May.

3. “Focus” — Ariana Grande

Grimmie pushed her piano aside and just let her voice do the talking in this a cappella cover of “Focus” by Ariana Grande. Canadian singer Mike Tompkins filmed the sound effects and vocal percussion while she belted the melody.

4. “O Holy Night”

In addition to pop music covers, Grimmie also performed various Christmas carols. “O Holy Night,” she says in the video, is one of her favorites. According to the description, it’s the first cover she ever sang in her room without her piano, choosing instead to use instrumental accompaniment she recorded earlier in Logic.

5. “What Do You Mean?” — Justin Bieber

Grimmie brought her unique spin to Justin Bieber’s hit 2015 song.

6. “Elastic Heart” — Sia

With just a piano and her own voice, Grimmie stripped Sia’s beat-heavy hit down to its emotional core.

7. “Say Something” — A Great Big World

Christina Aguilera, who had taken a break from her coach duties on The Voice during the season Grimmie was a contestant, lent her vocals to A Great Big World’s track. But Grimmie’s softer range lifts the melody to new emotional heights.

8. “Stay” — Rihanna

For something as emotional and intimate as Rihanna’s “Stay,” Grimmie brought the same qualities in a black-and-white video she filmed for a cover.

9. Fall Out Boy, Alicia Keys mash-up

Grimmie teamed up, once again, with Tompkins to record a mash-up of Fall Out Boy’s “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” and Alicia Key’s “Girl on Fire.” The video has since garnered close to 11 million views on YouTube.

10. “Titanium” — David Guetta feat. Sia

Grimmie covered another Sia song, this one from David Guetta. “This is probably one of the most powerful songs I think I’ve ever played on piano,” she said, adding, “It’s so amazing raw.”
