The first full trailer for Sony’s Ghostbusters reboot scared up 60 million views across all social media platforms during its debut week.

Released last Thursday, the two-and-a-half-minute coming attraction gave audiences their first extended look at Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones suited up as the new squad of paranormal investigators, with Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) directing.

The trailer also racked up 2.6 million interactions (retweets, comments, likes, etc.) on various social media platforms, with much of the conversation surrounding the film’s casting. Some moviegoers debated the central conceit of gender-swapping the main characters (including the addition of Chris Hemsworth as a hunky secretary), while others zeroed in on Jones’ character and whether it falls into stereotypes. Jones and Feig both defended the film on Twitter.

Also giving a stamp of approval was executive producer (and original Ghostbuster) Dan Aykroyd. “I told you GB 3 was good,” he tweeted. “Trailer just the beginning of a fun-filled summer with my paranormal sisterhood.”

In 2014, Star Wars: The Force Awakens set a record when its first teaser was viewed approximately 72 million times during its first week online. Last November, Captain America: Civil War set a record when its trailer collected more than 61 million views in its first 24 hours. Most recently, Zoolander 2‘s trailer tallied about 52 million views in its first week, though that interest didn’t translate to box office success.

Ghostbusters opens in theaters on July 15.
