SAN JOSE — The board of directors of the California Historical Radio Society, the Bay Area Radio Museum and the Broadcast Legends announced Thursday that San Jose Sharks radio play-by-play announcer Dan Rusanowsky has been elected to the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame in the sports category.

The date of the induction ceremony and dinner will be announced at a later date.

“Dan’s insight and enthusiasm for the game of hockey are contagious,” Bay Area Radio Museum executive director Len Shapiro said. “He has played a large part in the growth and popularity of the Sharks and the game of hockey in the Bay Area.”

Rusanowsky has been the voice of the Sharks since the team’s inception in 1991.
