Female Artist Turns Her Nude Body Into A Canvas For Painting Superhero Costumes

Costumes are a great way to turn heads but this Canadian artist Kay Pike has turned the art of cosplay to whole new level - she paints superhero costumes onto her nude body and the results are incredible.

This laborious bodypainting takes Pike at least 10 hours to brush onto her skin, and at the end she’s transformed into famous superheroes from comics and other cartoon characters.  The artist first began her journey when she discovered bodypainting from the Guest Bodypainter Lianne Moseley at Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo 2015. Continuously experimenting with new tools, materials and techniques have allowed Pike to improve each costume painting progressively.

Bright, colorful and fun, Kay Pike embodies the character as she brings it to life from the comic pages itself. Unusually, one of the features that make her bodypainting stand out is that she paints each iconic expression of the characters on her face, allowing her to exaggerate the visage in a way which not have been humanely possible for her facial muscles. You can follow the artist in action where she livestreams her progress for each bodypainting piece from her Twitter account. Watch the video here.
