Since putting out their sophomore record, 2002’s Worship and Tribute, New York’s Glassjaw have gone through a topsy turvy existence that’s included label woes, health issues, and even a hiatus in which frontman Daryl Palumbo formed new band Head Automatica. However, it looks like the post-hardcore outfit, once a staple of the music scene on Long Island and the Tri-state area as a whole, are finally readying a real comeback for 2016.
Following the announcement of a spring tour with Coheed and Cambria, Glassjaw have let loose “New White Extremity”, their first new release since their 2011 Coloring Book EP. A crushing number from start to finish, its manic riffage and Palumbo’s searing yelps recall the band’s excellent debut, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence.
