Pop Art Bentley Continental GT stands out from the crowd

Multicoloured Bentley Continental GT luxury supercar was designed by Sir Peter Blake

Art cars come in all shapes and sizes, but few are more striking than this Bentley Continental GT. Designed by Sir Peter Blake, it’s been bought to life by Bentley’s own bespoke Mulliner division.

Sir Peter Blake is best known for his album covers, including the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, but now he has put his distinctive art style to work on a £160,000+ Bentley Continental V8 S Convertible.

The car is painted in a variety of colours – two-tone blue and British Racing Green bodywork, a fuschia pink grille surround, and a yellow bonnet with a massive red heart on it. Inside, all four seats are decked out in a different colour of leather – Cumbrian Green, Imperial Blue, Newmarket Tan and Hotspur. All four alloy wheels are the same colour, though – that’s a missed opportunity!

Bentley has had Sir Peter sign the fascia panel, and the headrests and door sills are emblazoned to signify the unique nature of this vehicle.

Aston Martin Art Car 'looks fast'

Underneath, nothing has been changed, meaning that this car is still a V8-powered monster capable of 191mph. Still, if you want people to admire the paintwork, a more leisurely pace would probably be advisable.

The car has been created specifically to be sold at auction. The Goodwood Festival of Speed will see a Bonhams auctioneer sell Sir Peter’s Bentley in order to raise money for Care2Save, a charity which provides hospice care around the world, and which Bentley has supported for over 25 years.
