Will Ferrell is returning to his Presidential roots. The comedian is attached to play Ronald Reagan in Reagan, EW confirmed. His production company, Gary Sanchez, is on board to produce.

Mike Rosolio’s screenplay tracks Reagan at the beginning of his second term. When the President begins to fall into dementia, an ambitious intern is tasked with convincing the commander-in-chief that he is an actor playing the president in a movie.

Reagan was the ninth-most cited screenplay listed on December’s Black List — an annual list of Hollywood’s best unproduced scripts. A live read of the script was conducted in March, with James Brolin as Reagan. Lena Dunham, Nathan Fillion, and John Cho were among those who participated.

Ferrell is familiar with emulating the occupant of the Oval Office: One of his most famous impressions from his SNL years was former President George W. Bush.
