Snow for First Day of Spring Closer to Reality for Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow

Forecasts seem to be saying there will be a snow event this weekend.

Looks as if a snowstorm will usher in spring.

The exact track of the storm is still unknown. But meteorologists predict the storm is likely to track close enough to the Atlantic coast to bring accumulating snow to the Hudson Valley.

Even Hudson Valley Weather, which was skeptical about the storm track earlier this week, is updating its forecast:

"The potential certainly exists for a late Sunday afternoon thru Monday morning snow storm… that could accumulate more than 4 inches," said Bill Potter.

Since the storm will be strengthening while impacting New England, it could bring heavy snow, increasing wind and building seas with worsening travel conditions, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist.

The National Weather Service updated its Hazardous Weather Outlook this afternoon:

A COASTAL LOW COULD BRING AT LEAST 6 INCHES OF SNOW TO THE TRI- STATE FROM SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. THE SNOW COULD MIX WITH RAIN OVER MAINLY COASTAL AREAS NEAR THE START OF THE EVENT.
