Birth Mom of Rosie O'Donnell's Daughter Chelsea on Their Reunion: 'I've Always Wanted Her'

The fallout continues from Rosie O’Donnell‘s dramatic estrangement with her daughter Chelsea.

Chelsea’s birth mother Deanna Micoley – with whom she lived for a week after running away from home this summer – claims that the comedian illegally adopted the baby in 1997. (O’Donnell denies this.)

“I’ve always wanted her. I’m just so happy she’s part of my life now,” Micoley says in an upcoming interview with Inside Edition.

Interestingly, Micoley admits that she also isn’t on speaking terms with Chelsea now.

“I want to be a part of her life,” she says. “I want to see her walk down the aisle. I want to be there when she has her first baby. I just want to be her mom.”

The controversy began when O’Donnell, 53, reported Chelsea missing from their New York home in August. Police found her in the New Jersey residence of her boyfriend, alleged heroin addict Steven Sheerer, 25. He was arrested and charged with child endangerment and communication of obscenity, to which he pleaded not guilty.

O’Donnell’s rep then confirmed that Chelsea had decided to move in with Micoley in Wisconsin, though she now lives with Sheerer’s family.

In an interview with the Daily Mail earlier this month, Chelsea claimed O’Donnell was the one who kicked her out of their house and disputed the assertion that she has mental health problems.

“She’s texting me as if Steve is keeping me here and not letting me leave, which is not the case,” she said of the former View co-host. “I’m really happy to be here, and happier than I’ve been in years.”

O’Donnell’s rep has called the situation “heartbreaking on every level.”
