Criminal Records’ new releases for May 26-June 1

It’s Tuesday. That means today a boatload of new music is landing in record stores. Criminal Records has rolled out a short list of new titles: Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Icky Blossoms, Ludacris, and Animal Collective feat. Vashti Bunyan are competing for space on this week’s shopping list. The last of these, Prospect Hummer, has been around for about 10 years. It’s a throwback to a time when “new weird America” was a term on everyone’s lips (even though Vashti is British). These four songs offer a window into a shimmering and primal creative high point for everyone involved. Now it’s available on vinyl for the first time.
