Don't forget to vote May 19 whether you reside in the Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland or Peekskill school district!

New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 19. Here are fast facts about the election in Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland and Peekskill.

Hendrick Hudson

Voting information

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Frank G. Lindsey School, 57 Trolley Road, Montrose, NY.

Board of Education

Incumbents Mary-Pat Briggi and Laurie Ryan are running unopposed for re-election.

School budget

  • Proposed for 2015-16: $74,407,339
  • Increase over current spending: 1.4 percent
  • Tax levy increase: 0.03 percent

Second proposition on ballot

Spend up to $480,000 to replace one 72-passenger bus; three 20-passenger vans; two 7-passenger Suburbans; one heavy duty dump truck; two utility vehicles; and the existing fuel management system at the Bus Garage (cost shared with Verplanck Fire, Montrose Fire, Cortlandt Ambulance and the Village of Buchanan).

Lakeland

Voting information

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School, Route 6, Mohegan Lake.

Board of Education

There are four candidates for three seats on the board. Terms are up for incumbent Trustees James B. Carroll, Jr., Carol Ann Dobson and Brian Hugick. Dobson is running for re-election. Also on the ballot are Michael Cherchia, Karen Pressman and Mike Daly.

School budget

  • Proposed for 2015-16: $161,174,165
  • Increase over current spending: 0 percent
  • Tax levy increase: 0.50 percent

Peekskill

Voting information

Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. at Peekskill High School, 1072 Elm St.

Board of Education

Incumbents Lisa Aspinall-Kellawon and Colin Smith are running for re-election; challenger Ramon Fernandez hopes to unseat one of them. To learn more about the candidates, click here.

  • Proposed spending: $81,890,784
  • Increase over current budget: 2.54 percent
  • Tax levy decrease: 2.02 percent

Second proposition on ballot

Voters will be asked to approve a $1,765,000 proposition as the district revises its transportation policy to meet state law, by providing transportation for city residents in kindergarten through fifth grade, both to public school and to private schools within 15 miles of Peekskill.
