Without sails to catch the wind, the Mudgereeba Windmill restaurant was bound to confuse potential buyers.

“The most important job we had to do at this property was to give it back its identity and that meant restoring the sails,” says Andrew Winter, Host of Selling Houses Australia from the Lifestyle Channel on Foxtel.

The major engineering project has restored the property to its former glory, ready for the next owner and tenant to move in and start trading up.

After all the trouble of engineering the sails, a repaint was essential.

Cafe-style tables and chairs have added to the wow factor for potential buyers as they enter the building.

Inside the restaurant, work was needed to take the look from dark and dated to something a bit livelier.

The makeover team set to work, covering up the brickwork with an on-trend grey paint and replacing the Tiffany lights with Scandi-style geometric pendants.

The residential part of the building received a good lick of paint too, and new blinds to complement the clean, fresh look.

“Even though we want to showcase the commercial aspect of this property, we needed to keep all options open so we couldn’t neglect the domestic area,” Winter says.

“All in all a good job all round.”

The Windmill restaurant, cafe and residence is now for sale for offers above $659,000.
