great
The Banner Saga 2 is as beautiful and tactical as the first, but with greater variety in combat and story.

Summary
In The Banner Saga 2, the sequel to the strategy-RPG hit, developer Stoic will continue the legacy and story of The Banner Saga with stunning 2D animation and art, a unique tactical combat system and a cast of unforgettable characters.
The Banner Saga 2 News
Being a direct sequel to the first game, this game plays just like it, with slighty upgraded features, like new units, skills and some added variety to combat. The story takes a more fantasy/apocalyptic tone in comparison to the first part, which had a more down to earth take on the world. Despite the interesting urgency of the second story, I liked the first game better, because it offered more branching paths on the story, and the decisions you had to make had heavier impacts on the story.
Aside from that, the soundtrack remains impressive, and the game features more varied landscapes, which really shine under this game's beautiful Eyvind Earle-inspired art style.

An absolute improvement on the first game, in every aspect this game is better than the first. Really feels like Stoic took feedback from the first game and knew they had a good foundation and did the tweaks necessary to make a fantastic middle to their trilogy.
