Another lovely story from Patrick Osborne. Most of you will remember the animated short Feast that played before Disney's Big Hero 6 in 2014, as it told a love story while focused on an adorable little Boston Terrier puppy. Well, good news as the new short from Patrick Osborne is now online. It's actually Google 360 short, meaning you can interact with and spin the video any way you want, since it's set entirely inside a hatchback. The story is about a father and his daughter, named Pearl, and the times they spent together. It's as wonderful as Feast if not even more so. "It's not where you're from, but where you belong…" See below.
Description from YouTube: "Set inside their home, a beloved hatchback, Pearl follows a girl and her dad as they crisscross the country chasing their dreams. It’s a story about the gifts we hand down and their power to carry love. And finding grace in the unlikeliest of places." Pearl is short directed by animator / filmmaker Patrick Osborne, who made the short film Feast for Disney in 2014. Follow him on Twitter @PatrickTOsborne. With music by Alexis Harte & JJ Weisler. Pearl is one of the first interactive 360 Google Spotlight Stories videos, and was debuted during the recent Google I/O conference. Nice work. Thoughts?

Never cried... reminded me of being a kid in the back seat of the car. Must be good with the headset on.

I really dislike 360 video. I just think it is kind of wasteful. Maybe it kicks ass with a VR set, but on a 2D screen it just doesn't feel right.

Such a big gamble for something that seems like 3D televisions or motion controls...
