Injury Update: Patriots WR Julian Edelman "is fully on track"

Foot injuries have been the bane of the Patriots offense for the past two seasons.

A promising 2013 rookie season for 2nd round pick Aaron Dobson was cut short by a foot injury and an offseason surgery left his well behind his teammates at the start of 2014.

Fortunately, free agent receiver Brandon LaFell was able to step up in 2014, but a foot injury of his own set him back for basically the entirety of 2015.

And now wide receiver Julian Edelman is battling a foot injury of his own. But there is some good news on the Edelman front, at least according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe:

"Edelman has recovered nicely from his initial foot surgery in November, and he hasn't required a second procedure to fix the foot this offseason."

That's a good development, because it means that Edelman will hopefully be able to participate in offseason workouts. Dobson and LaFell required surgeries on their feet in the spring after the completion of the season, which set them back. If Edelman doesn't require surgery, then he'll be four or five months ahead in his recovery and could be fully available in July.

And who knows. Maybe all three of these receivers will be ready to roll in camp and available to take the offense to the next level.
