Moon Film Review: Mr Holmes

Your Cultural Correspondent (Film and Theatre) thinks that if you want a plot and if you want a script, it's probably best to avoid 'Mr Holmes'. However, if you want a masterclass in acting and a masterclass in portraying decline, then under no circumstances miss 'Mr Holmes'.

All the players were troopers. But let's reserve special plaudits for Miss de la Tour and Miss Barber. Both of whom, despite shamelessly hamming, demonstrated in their one-scene cameos exactly how to steal them. Sadly, we don't see enough of any of the film's actors on the big screen. Un applauso all round.
