Life is Strange charity challenge asks 'everyday heroes' to prevent bullying

Using the game for a good cause

Square Enix has teamed up with Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER) to jumpstart an anti-bullying initiative, the company announced in a press release. Starting today until Jan. 19, Square Enix will donate toward PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center for each tweet that features the Life is Strange-based hashtag Everyday Heroes.

In Life is Strange, Everyday Heroes is the photography contest heroine Max weighs entering over the course of the season. For the purpose of this collaboration, Square Enix has repurposed the competition for this charitable function, while also drawing inspiration from the game's bullying-related plot points.

You can watch a video about the philanthropic event starring Ashly Burch, the voice of Life is Strange's Chloe, above. To see how people are currently using the hashtag in the effort to curtail bullying nationwide, you can visit the weeklong event's website.
