Cop hurt in Sultan Kudarat grenade blast


KIDAPAWAN CITY — A policeman was wounded in a blast from a fragmentation grenade lobbed by unidentified attackers in front of the police station in Esperanza town in Sultan Kudarat early Wednesday morning.
 
Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office told GMA News Online that the explosion occurred at about 4:50 a.m, wounding SPO1 Arlan Ramales, who was at the municipal police office.
 
The explosion also damaged the glass door and window of the police station.
 
An Explosive and Ordnance Disposal team cordoned off the blast site where several metal fragments and a pull ring believed to be part of a hand grenade were found.
